Founder Story

Together, co-founders Paul and Erin launched Kismet Essentials as a way to share their favourite natural products with the world. They wanted to keep things simple, launching their business based on the belief that self-care products should contain only the essentials. Kismet products are free from harmful fragrances and toxins and packed with effective, all-natural, and organic ingredients.

While Paul takes care of back-end and technical support, Erin manages customer relationships, product development, shipping, and production. All Kismet products are handcrafted in small batches in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

When they're not working on Kismet, Erin and Paul spend their time hiking, camping, biking, and finding balance through their shared love of cappuccinos.

Kismet Essentials uses only the highest quality, virgin, organic coconut oil in its products. Kismet's coconut oil is sourced from wild-grown coconuts that are handpicked by local Salomon Island farm owners. Once picked, the coconuts are manually cold-pressed, with the entire oil production and collection process finished in 90 minutes or less. From start to finish, the entire process is designed to use resources efficiently and sustainably, resulting in minimal waste. No dangerous chemicals are used at any point to grow or manufacture the coconut oil.

Kismet's coconut oil is also certified fair trade and produced in respectful working conditions. The oil meets three different standards of fair trade, and the local community benefits from the business — helping build healthy, happy futures for everyone involved. It truly is the freshest, fairest, and most future-friendly type of coconut oil available today.
